The doctorate is the last and preeminent degree in the European Space of Higher Education, which when set out aims to widen scientific knowledge by means of original research.
The creation of the International Doctorate School in 2012 has been a landmark at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, by a rethink of these studies from the three aspects of diversity, quality and collaboration. Diversity because it includes eighteen programmes which cover the five branches of knowledge: arts and humanities, sciences, health sciences, social and legal sciences, engineering and architecture. Quality because they have been adapted to the legislation in force and have been positively evaluated by the corresponding authority. And collaboration because seven of the programmes are offered in cooperation with other Spanish universities.
